Description

Team Fishel, the Best Choice for Utility Construction and Network Installation, is looking to hire a MDU Construction Supervisor to manage and oversee one or more multi-dwelling unit / commercial property installation crews for our Santa Ana, CA operations. This position is responsible for supervising cable installations of Voice, Data, Fiber Optics and Coax cables.

The ideal candidate will have 5 + years’ experience and must be able to survey MDU/ commercial properties for the best installation route, draw up plans, estimate labor/ materials, assist with estimating, plan crew schedules, coordinate scheduling with customers, track documentation and communicate with customers. Must also build pathways and install fiber in units in a commercial setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to perform site surveys for estimates, proposal preparation, or quality assurance in various size projects.

  • Daily site scheduling, coordination, production, resource management and safety.

  • Record and ensure accuracy of timesheets and expense reports.

  • Develop procedures for maintaining crew productivity during delays caused by other trades, customer, lack of materials, etc.

  • Monitor Quality Assurance and ensure installations meet customer specification and industry standards.

  • Ensure safety practices are observed by all crews during their work

  • Report, coordinate and supervise all aspects of a project

  • Daily communication with project manager to relay critical information affecting time and budget.

  • Responsible for daily progress reports and conducting daily safety briefs.

  • Conduct “look aheads” in conjunction with the project manager in order to assure we are on schedule and have the resources on hand to meet production.

  • Enter private residents/ suites to gather information and quality assurance.

  • Meet with onsite Property Manager, sub-Contractors and customer representatives.

  • Work outside in all types of weather conditions, inspect in tight spaces, such as attics and crawl spaces.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL Class C License or above required.

  • Meet company driving standards

  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field

  • Must have experience supervising a crew of 1 to 5

  • Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.

  • Must have basic understanding of both the Federal & State OSHA standards as they relate to 1926 standards

  • Basic computer skills and map reading. (MS office (Excel), Visio, Mapping/Drafting software)

  • Must be knowledgeable in identifying and understanding the difference between CAT 3 and CAT 5; Riser; Fiber optic; PVC, riser rated and plenum cable; Plenum and PVC environments.

  • Must be familiar with the universal communications color codes.

  • Knowledge in grounding and bonding specifications.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work with others and work independently

  • Ability to work at high elevations ( buildings, ladders, lift trucks, etc.) and confined spaces




Team Fishel will provide on-the-job training in all areas of safety, including flagging certification, tool operation and maintenance.


Bilingual and prior construction experience is a plus
