Team Fishelan 84-year-old company with a great reputation as the Best Choice Employer in the utility construction and network installation business, is looking to hire a Safety Coordinator for our Midwest Low Voltage Technologies Solutions Group (LVTS), one of the busiest and most successful groups in the country. The LVTS division is experiencing strong and sustained growth with major customers. The Safety Coordinator in this role will be the lead safety contact for the entire division, which includes 3 offices in two states.

At Team Fishel, we lead everything we do with the #1 value of being Accident-Free. The Safety Coordinator is a demanding and critical role within the LVTS division, and a rare opportunity to be part of the initial safety team dedicated completely to that division. 

The qualified candidate could be located in any of our office areas, which includes Columbus, Cincinnati, and Louisville, KY. Some travel will be required.

The responsibilities of the Safety Coordinator include: conducting safety operation training, safety training programs, updating and maintaining training programs to improve the safety of our network and cable installation telecom operations. This position also includes conducting routine safety visits to enforce safety policies, while identifying specific job hazards and precautions at various job site locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee/coordinate and monitor Safety Supplies Inventory.
  • Conduct/coordinate classroom and field training meetings as needed.
  • Maintain condition and operational integrity of Emergency Response equipment.  
  • Conduct Routine Job Site Safety Visits.
  • Investigates report-able accidents, injuries and job damages.
  • Create and Present on monthly safety topics.
  • Serve as member of Incident Investigation committees on "as needed" basis.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Prior or oriented experience in safety.
  • Being an excellent communicator and an even better listener, is critical to success in this role.
  • Knowledge of networking and cable installation (Voice/Data/Coax/Fiber Optics) is a plus.
  • Expected travel approximately 50%. Mostly day travel, some overnight travel required.
  • A strong understanding of a service-based, customer-focused approach in everything we do.
  • Ability to perform audits and document findings of company procedures and practices
  • Strong computer skills and with familiarity of MS Office and Google Drive applications
Preferred Skills:
  • Related field experience in safety coaching, mentoring, and training for Telecommunications operations.
  • Current certifications in OSHA 500 and 510, and is qualified to teach OSHA 30 standards (General & Construction).
  • Know industry safety practices: NESC, DOT, PHMSA, OSHA regulations and guidelines.
  • Certified and Trained in: Red Cross first aid, blood borne pathogens, CPR, , PPE, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Boom & Scissor Lift certification, Altech training, HAZCOM, and Smith Driving Systems.
  • Industrial Hygiene knowledge a plus.
  • Willing to develop and demonstrate solid leadership skills.

Bilingual experience is a plus
