Description
Team Fishel, the Best Choice Employer in the utility construction business, is looking to hire an Inspector - Erosion and Sediment for our Richmond, VA location.
Team Fishel is an outstanding provider of Engineering, Utility Construction and Network Installation services. The Inspector - Erosion and Sediment investigates erosion and storm water complaints and accidents to determine causes and devises preventive measures. Assists in developing and/or creating erosion and sediment control plans for mitigation and permit submitting. Works directly with Environmental Engineer to ensure permits are submitted and secured from the appropriate governing bodies. Monitor and inspect land disturbing activities and reviews erosion and sediment control plans that have been submitted, compiling, examining and/or evaluating data or information, recommending actions based on result based on those evaluations.
The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
- Certified Land Disturber – Certified by the Department of Conservation and Recreation
- Customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships, with clients, crews/employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
- Ability to enforce ordinances and codes with firmness and tact.
- Knowledge of terminology, practices and techniques of erosion control design and field construction.
- Knowledge of road, drainage and grading design and construction practices.
- Knowledge of math and surveying methods related to road and drainage design.
- Knowledge of soils mapping, types and engineering properties as related to road, drainage and erosion control projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience collaborating with construction contractors or demonstrated ability to do so.
- Ability to estimate costs of erosion control projects.
- Ability to work and quickly resolve issues with client.
- Maintain QA/QC processes and requirements.
