Traffic Control Drafter

Team Fishel, the Best Choice Employer in the utility construction and network installation business, is hiring a Traffic Control Drafter for our Santa Ana, CA location. 

The Traffic Control Drafter is responsible for designing and drafting temporary traffic control plans in AutoCAD for the construction of telecommunications facilities in the public right-of-way using standards as defined by the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Work Area Traffic Control Handbook (WATCH) including the implementation of basis traffic engineering principles. The Traffic Control Designer/Drafter reports directly to the Traffic Control Drafting Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Draft temporary traffic control designs to develop safe and accurate plans
- Create basemaps for traffic control plans using all available research from jurisdictions.
- Design temporary traffic control and construction setups
- Coordinate with project managers and drafting designers to design temporary traffic control setups.
- Draft all field-engineering notes to basemap or survey map that are pertinent to design.
- Other duties as deemed necessary

Job Requirements:

- MUST HAVE Two – five years of experience and *MUST* be in traffic control
- Knowledge of the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Work Area Traffic Control Handbook    (WATCH) (Latest   Editions for both manuals)
- Basic knowledge of Traffic Engineering principles as it pertains to temporary traffic control.
- Expert knowledge in the use of AutoCAD 2005 or higher

Team Fishel will provide on-the-job training in all areas of safety, including flagging certification, tool operation and maintenance.
