Description

Team Fishel, the Best Choice for Utility Construction and Network Installation, is hiring Structured Cabling Specialists (Voice/Data/Fiber Installers and Technicians/Sr.Technician) for our Technologies division in the Phoenix, AZ office. This position is responsible for having the knowledge of cable installations of Voice, Data, Fiber Optics and Coax cables. Terminate and testing cables of copper and fiber optic cables.

The ideal candidate will have 2 + year’s experience in voice/data/fiber installation and termination. Experience with cable certification, 
OTDR, and power meter testing.


Summary:

Responsible for the installation of structured cabling systems including, but not limited to, Cat3, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat 6A, Coaxial, and Fiber Optic cabling. The position also includes the termination, testing, and troubleshooting of the structured cabling system.


Job Description:         

- Installation of cabling in new construction projects or existing buildings.

- Cable Terminations – CAT 3, CAT5E, Cat 6, CAT 6A, RJ45, Coax, Single Mode / Multi Mode fiber connectors and Fusions.

- Performs daily tests, checks and maintenance of splicing and testing equipment.

- Reviews, interprets and works with various maps, drawings and blueprints and testing documents.·         

- Testing and troubleshooting

- MDF / IDF Room Build outs. (Equipment racks, ladder rack, grounding, etc.)

- Installation of cabling pathways (J-Hooks, conduits, etc.)


Professional Skills:

- BICSI Certifications preferred.

- Must be knowledgeable in structured cabling systems and other IP technologies.

- Outside Plant and Aerial Cabling experience a plus.

- Experienced in the operation of scissor and boom lifts.


Qualifications: 

- To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

- Must be knowledgeable in various wiring configurations and terminations.

- Good communication skills for effective interaction with internal & external customers.

- Experience in a fast-paced construction environment.

- Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team setting.

- Ability to lift/move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.

- Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40    feet, working in crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

- Basic hand and telecom tools required.

- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

 

Team Fishel will provide on-the-job training in all areas of safety, including flagging certification, tool operation and maintenance.


Bilingual and prior construction experience is a plus
