Description

Team Fishel, the Best Choice in Utility Construction, is hiring a Survey Technician for our Professional Services Group (PSG) in Tampa, FL. The Survey Technician at Team Fishel will be responsible for working closely with the engineering, right of way, land survey and permitting staff to produce high quality drawings and be able to verbally communicate specifications and directions to and from the survey crew. The Survey Technician will be working under the direction of a Licensed Land Surveyor.

Responsibilities
  • Perform survey computations, easement calculations, and construction staking computations
  • Prepare survey data for the field crews and collect field data daily
  • Draft Maps (Subdivision, Parcel, etc.)
  • Create Legal Descriptions for property and easements
  • Utilize coordinates for search and construction staking
  • Undertake map, deed, and other research
  • Work with other departments and survey crews to help prepare base maps and staking maps
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Surveying or related fields are desirable
  • Demonstrated competency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson preferred
  • Experience in field land surveying is a plus
  • Proficiency in processing field data, preparation of topographic and boundary surveys, horizontal and vertical alignments, construction staking, writing metes and bounds descriptions, and performing survey calculations
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills as well as effective written and oral communication skills, including quality field note taking and survey documentation
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to travel as needed within assigned work region
  • Drone piloting license (Part 107) is preferred
