Survey Instrument Operator

Team Fishel, the Best Choice for Utility Construction and Network Installation, is hiring a Survey Instrument Operator for our Surveying & Engineering division in Dumfries, VA.  The Survey Instrument Operators at Team Fishel assist the Survey Crew Leader on projects by performing all related work to conducting surveys.

Responsibilities

• Accurately run and adjust survey measuring instruments including level, transit, theodolite, electronic measuring devices, and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities

• Perform data collection

• Maintain vehicle and field equipment

• Take accurate and clear notes and note reduction

• Know principles of staking and marking

• Performs other duties as assigned

 Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required

• Able to operate and train others in the use of survey equipment including conventional and electronic instruments and computers (hardware and software)

• Possess good interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills

• Must be able and willing to travel

• Willingness to learn all aspects of surveying

• Experience utilizing GPS equipment is preferred

Bilingual English/Spanish experience is a plus
