Team Fishel, the Best Choice in utility construction, is hiring Flaggers for our Rochester, PA operation.

A Flagger controls and directs movement of vehicular traffic through roadway construction sites using sign, hand, and flag signals. Warns construction workers when approaching vehicles fail to heed signals to prevent accidents and injury to workers. Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites.

Responsibilities and Skills

• Stand in position at construction work site and watch for road traffic to protect equipment and Teammates
• Ensure that proper safety equipment is worn at all times at the job sites
• Control signaling devices and apparatus to safely direct traffic through crossing
• Ability to understand and apply safe traffic control practices, sometimes in stressful or emergency situations
• Ability to move and maneuver quickly to avoid danger from errant vehicles
• Ability to receive and communicate specific instructions clearly, firmly and courteously
• Ability to control signaling devices (such as paddles and flags) in order to provide clear and positive guidance to drivers approaching traffic control zone
• Ability to recognize dangerous traffic situations and warn workers in sufficient time to avoid injury
• Perform other work related duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

• 18 years old with High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have some manual labor experience
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and in a variety of weather conditions
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Must be able to receive, understand, and communicate specific instructions
• ATSSA Flagger certificate or equivalent highly preferred
