Description

Team Fishel is an outstanding provider of utility engineering; proudly serving the electric power, low voltage, technology, natural gas and telecommunication industries since 1936. Our mission is to be The Best Choice for our Utility Engineering, Construction, Installation and Maintenance Customers, Teammates, and Suppliers. We are currently searching for a Senior Staff Accountant in our corporate office in Columbus, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity to join a solid company in an important role within the organization.

 

Salary: $75,000-$82,000 (Competitive benefits package including profit sharing incentives.)


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, or equivalent practical experience.

 

Experience & Skills (Required)

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in an accounting or finance environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a diversified task load.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with non-finance personnel.

 

Principal Accountabilities (Key Responsibilities)

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the complete accounting cycles for Team Fishels Subsidiaries and month end close process including:

  • Financial Integrity: Prepare, review, and maintain core financial documents, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage AP/AR, process payments, track expenses.
  • Month-End Close: Execute all required month-end schedules and journal entries efficiently.
  • Job Cost: Setting up new projects with proper coding.
  • Cost Management: Track, analyze, and report on all project expenses and revenues.
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the main liaison with Team Fishel vs the subsidiaries and collaborate to resolve any potential issues with customers.
  • Annual Maintenance & Lease Maintenance: Accurately record all new and existing annual contracts in the accounting software and account reconciliations.
  • Strategic Support: Provide timely and professional support to Management on various accounting projects and analyses.
