Survey Party Chief

Team Fishel, the Best Choice for Utility Construction and Network Installation, is hiring a Survey Party Chief for the Dumfries, VA Professional Services Group (PSG). The Survey Party Chief will be responsible for conducting surveys; performing survey duties; supervising the survey crew, and performing related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately run and adjust survey measuring instruments including level, transit, theodolite, electronic measuring devices, GPS equipment, and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities

• Performs mathematical calculations

• Takes accurate and clear notes and note reduction

• Reads and understands plans and specifications

• Know basic sources of measurement errors

• Know principles of staking and marking

• Perform topographic surveys

• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required

• Able to operate and train others in the use of survey equipment including conventional and electronic instruments and computers (hardware and software)

• Possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills

• Although not likely, overnight travel may be required

Bilingual English/Spanish experience is a plus.
