Telecom Project Manager

Team Fishel, the Best Choice Employer in the utility construction business, is hiring a Project Manager for our Telecom Engineering Group in Northern Virginia.

The Project Manager will help oversee multiple projects directly related to telecom engineering in mostly underground, but also some overhead applications. They will direct multiple engineering project teams (consisting of full-time employees, temp-to-hire employees and subcontractors) and manage entire project scopes from conception to final completion. They will help obtain, supervise and administer the necessary resources (both internal and external) required to complete projects. They will communicate and coordinate directly with customers, private landowners, municipalities, and other engineering firms. They will be responsible for regular communication updates with customers and stakeholders, and they will keep track of metrics as needed.

Required Experience:

• Supervising teams of 5+ employees daily

• Understanding the basics of telecommunications projects (underground/overhead) and relevant technologies for these projects

• Ability to work and develop rapport with internal management and employees, along with customers and other stakeholders

• Strong team building and leadership skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize based on requirements and needs

Recommended Experience:

• PMP or other management/leadership certification

• Knowledge of local municipalities for permitting requirements (related to right of way and/or environmental permits)

• Knowledge of construction operations related to underground/overhead installation for telecom, broadband and fiber infrastructure

• Understanding or previous visibility to processes for GIS, design, right of way acquisition, and/or surveying work
