Project Manager/ Estimator

Team Fishel, the Best Choice Employer in the utility construction business, is looking to hire an Project Manager with Estimator experience for our Santa Ana, CA location. The purpose for a Project Manager/Estimator at Team Fishel is to be responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings and successfully executing the project, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project and see it through its build out process. You must aggressively follow-up with subcontractors and customers to ensure that bids are received and manage the project from start to finish. Also to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business. Critical and creative conversation to manage and execute is a must.

Bilingual in Spanish and prior construction experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Successfully and safely lead telecom and electric underground crews on various size conduit installation projects

• Perform site surveys for estimates, proposal preparation, or quality assurance

• Manage billing, communicate job status with the customer

• Report, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of a project

• Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors

• Develops RFI's and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage

• Performs a comprehensive "bid" analysis and scoping of specified bid scope

• Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors and in negotiations with customers

Requirements & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of underground estimating experience

•  Experience in change orders and bid/unit price schedules etc

• Ability to interpret construction drawings and create as-build prints

•  Must have computer skills and experience with Microsoft office applications

• Valid Driver's License required

• Travel may be required based on project location
