Design Supervisor

Team Fishel, the Best Choice Employer in the Utility Engineering and Construction business, is hiring a Design Supervisor for our Telecom Engineering Group to be based out of Phoenix, AZ.

The Design Supervisor will  manage and direct technical design activities in support of completing telecom engineering projects. They will supervise and manage resources daily to ensure goals are met related to detailed design drawings and timely deliverables. They will provide strategic leadership and guidance to the design Teammates, and they are to help demonstrate and promote collaboration among Teammates, sub-contractors, and other parties in the design of any customer's projects. They will coordinate with other teams to aid in overall project completion and will communicate progress regularly on design work to both internal and external stakeholders. 

Required Experience

• Previously created engineering drawings that included permitting and construction requirements

• Demonstrated experience in overseeing the design of overhead and underground utility design  

• Experience involving project priority and workforce planning in a supervisory capacity 

• Ability to work with others in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment 

• Knowledge of basic computer programs and software used in telecommunications design projects including AutoCAD

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desired Experience

• Past supervision experience with teams of 5+ employees daily

• Knowledge of local municipalities for permitting requirements (related to right of way and/or environmental permits)

• Knowledge of construction operations related to underground/overhead installation for telecom, broadband and fiber infrastructure

• Understanding or previous visibility to processes for GIS, design, right of way acquisition, and/or surveying work
