Team Fishel, the Best Choice in utility construction since 1936, is hiring qualified Fiber Optic Splicers for installation projects in the Atlanta metro area. Splicing Technicians are responsible for completing projects safely, and on time, while striving to exceed our specifications for quality. The ideal candidate will have 2 + years of experience in fusion splicing fiber optic cable, splice audit verifications, voice/data/fiber installation and termination experience, and OTDR and power meter testing. 

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Splice various fiber optic cable types and sizes, including single mode, multimode, stranded, and ribbon.
2. Analyze and troubleshoots basic technical problems or issues
3. Review, interpret, and work with various maps, drawings, blueprints, and testing documents.
4. Perform daily tests, checks, and maintenance of splicing and testing equipment.
5. Perform optical continuity and conformance testing  

Job Qualifications
1. Must possess a minimum of two (2) plus years of experience in fiber optic splicing and testing
2. Experience using various fusion splicing and optical testing equipment
3. Must possess the knowledge to identify and understand the difference between Multi-mode and Single-mode fibers; CAT 3 and CAT 5; Riser; Fiber optic; PVC, riser rated and plenum cable; Plenum and PVC environments.
4. Must know the universal communications color codes.
5. Ability to work with others and work independently
6. Ability to work in confined spaces
7. Must possess a current driver license and clean driving history to operate company vehicles
