Survey Instrument Operator

Team Fishel, the Best Choice in the utility construction business, is hiring a Survey Instrument Operator for our Professional Service Group's office in Hampton, VA.  The Survey Instrument Operators at Team Fishel assists the Survey Party Chief on projects by performing the work related to conducting field surveys. The Survey Instrument Operator should be available to work under all kinds of weather conditions; the successful candidate will be working under the direction of a Licensed Land Surveyor. Entry level applicants with an interest in learning Land Survey will be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Accurately run surveying instruments including total stations with data collectors, GPS equipment, and other conventional surveying equipment

• Perform data collection and take accurate and clear surveying notes

• Maintain vehicle and field equipment

• Know principles of staking and marking

• Perform other duties as assigned

 Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required

• Possess good interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills

• Must be able and willing to travel

• Willingness to learn all aspects of surveying

• Experience utilizing GPS equipment is preferred

Bilingual English/Spanish experience is a plus
