Construction Project Estimator

Team Fishel, the Best Choice in Utility Construction since 1936, is hiring a Construction Project Estimator for utility installation projects at our Louisville, KY office.

As an Estimator, the Teammate evaluates customer bid specifications and drawings to develop detailed estimates for a successful project bid. The Estimator assists with the communication of bids and scopes of work.  This position establishes costs for materials, equipment, subcontracted work, production activities, requirements, and labor. 

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of management, construction crews, and customers

• Experience analyzing underground and aerial construction proposals, telecommunications and electric related projects highly desirable

• A working understanding of contracting and accounting practices

• Ability to manage bidding timelines and milestones

• Ability to represent Team Fishel in planning sessions

• Reading, understanding, and performing take offs of utility drawings

• Build budgets and cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, and sub-contractors  

• Experience with Bid 2 Win (Trimble B2W) bidding software preferred

• Demonstrated team building and negotiation skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with extensive presentation skills

• Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
